Shoosmiths and Bruntwood SciTech join forces to host the LandAid North West 10k
LEADING UK law firm Shoosmiths’ Manchester office has joined forces with the UK’s leading property provider to the science and tech sector Bruntwood SciTech, to sponsor and host the LandAid North West 10k.
The race is set to take part on Thursday 8 September, with the route scheduled to take place around Bruntwood SciTech’s Alderley Park - home to over 400 acres of parkland and woodland.
Funds raised from the event will go directly to LandAid, a property industry charity that delivers life changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future. The event will bring together over 600 property professionals from across the industry, to compete to run 10k.
The sponsorship follows the Shoosmiths Manchester team taking part in the LandAid SleepOut earlier this year, where colleagues raised funds and gained a small insight into the conditions faced by thousands of young homeless people across the UK every single night.
Debra Cooper, co-head of the Shoosmiths Manchester office said: “We are delighted to join forces with Bruntwood SciTech to sponsor such a fantastic race and event. The vital funds raised from this event will ensure that LandAid edge closer to creating more homes for vulnerable 16-24 year olds, something that Shoosmiths is so very proud to support”
Kate Lawlor, CEO, Bruntwood SciTech added: “We’re really excited to be hosting the inaugural LandAid North West 10K. We can’t wait to welcome runners to experience the beauty of Alderley Park’s trails, all whilst raising money for such an important cause.”
Nathan Cornish, Chair, North West Land Aid Board said: “We are delighted to add the North West 10K to our LandAid events calendar. I’d like to thank both Shoosmiths and Bruntwood SciTech for sponsoring the event, and I’d like to make a special mention to Debra Cooper for making it happen.
I know there are a lot of runners in the North West, and I encourage everyone to take part whether you walk or run the 10K. The most important element is taking part, raising funds, and having fun in the wonderful grounds of Alderley Park.”
