Proposals launched for new science, tech and residential development at Alderley Park

Bruntwood SciTech’s Alderley Park in Cheshire is set to expand as it looks to the next phase of its masterplan development which will enhance the Park’s offering as an inspiring place to work, innovate, live and relax.

Bruntwood SciTech - a 50:50 joint venture between Bruntwood and Legal & General, has today announced an outline planning application to deliver two new buildings for lab and office space at Alderley Park, totalling around 200,000 sq ft. Supporting the development further, Bruntwood SciTech and Symphony Park – a new premium retirement living brand brought to the market by the team from Vita Group -  have also announced proposals for a new retirement living offer at the Park.

Subject to planning permission, the proposals will support the development of the Park as a world leading science and technology campus, and further diversify the established residential community. 

Alderley Park is already home to a vibrant and fast growing life science and tech community of over 250 companies, including national institutions such as the Medicines Discovery Catapult and Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute and leading global tech corporations such as SAP. Funds raised by the sale of the residential plot to Symphony Park would be used to further grow the thriving life science ecosystem and would cross-fund the new science and tech developments, supporting the creation of up to 1,600 additional jobs in the region.

Working with Bruntwood SciTech, Symphony Park has identified the previously developed ‘Heatherley Woods’ plot at Alderley Park, which is adjacent to the Bellway Homes development, as the ideal location for a new high-quality retirement living community. It is anticipated that Symphony Park will offer around 160 luxury retirement apartments designed to the very highest architectural quality offering a full suite of services and facilities, within a carefully cultivated landscaped setting. This includes delivering an outstanding package of care around the changing needs of its residents with a focus on empowering independence wherever possible.

Members of the public are invited to attend consultation events taking place at Glasshouse, Alderley Park (SK10 4ZE) on Friday 18th February 2:00pm – 7:00pm and Saturday 19th February 10:00am – 1:00pm. Visitors can use the Glasshouse multi-storey car park. A further round of consultation is scheduled for the end of March.
