Alderley Park hosts Amazed by Science Festival

We were delighted to be involved in this year’s Amazed by Science festival organised by Marketing Cheshire. Thursday 31st May saw around 200 children descend on Alderley Park Conference Centre for two fun-filled workshops: Mad Science’s ‘Slime Zone & Flight Zone Funstations’ and Waters Corp’s ‘Wacky Science Lab’.

Amazed by Science was launched in 2014 when Marketing Cheshire and The University of Manchester’s Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre came together to produce the Cheshire-wide festival. Now in its fifth year, the festival aims to capture children’s imaginations and excite families about science in Cheshire.

Dr Chris Doherty, Managing Director of Alderley Park, said “It’s really important to have kids and parents understand career options and to get excited by what’s going on in science.” He added: “The ability to bring people here to inspire the children and the parents is a critical thing… I’d love to welcome them back when they have a degree or PhD.”
