On the 1st June 2018, a showcase event will be held for the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre theme of Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Research.

The five year NIHR awarded grant has been in place for its first year and to celebrate its success stories so far the Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Research theme will be hosting an event to showcase the current PED research undertaken in Greater Manchester.

The event also aims to identify new collaborations for future research and emphasise the importance of prevention and early detection research as the base for a strategy to defeat cancer

This will be a full day event at the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) and will be hosted by Professor Gareth Evans, Cancer Prevention and Early Detection theme lead.

Speakers will include a range of BRC PED level researchers from programme leads to PhD students. Professor Jack Cuzick, director of Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine in London, will also be delivering the keynote talk of the event.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
