This half day workshop will be hosted at Hologic's Manchester Campus. Hologic have 30 years' experience in molecular diagnostics and have more than 100 FDA approved tests on the market.

Overcoming the challenges of molecular genomics - From sample to data to biology.

Hologic's genomic service facility is located in Manchester, where they work together with customers and partners creating tailor made solutions that deliver highly accurate high quality results.

The workshop will cover:

• Successful DNA and RNA extraction - technologies, techniques and troubleshooting

• Study design - ensuring the right questions to get the right answers

• Sample preparation - different requirements for a wide range of genomic applications and platforms

• Genomic applications - RNAseq or Arrays? Choosing the right tool for the job

• Bioinformatics - from data mining to data processing, analysis and interpretation

• Understanding studies - how large consortia run large genomic project6s
